2017/18 Membership Options

Hempsals Community Farm is a CSA project set up by Ben and Emma Tregenna just outside the village of Willingham, near Cambridge. We have 5 acres of farmland that we use for growing fruit and vegetables and keeping pigs, sheep, goats, geese, turkeys, chickens, and bees. Our vision is of a community growing scheme where committed members bring together a variety of skills and ideas to share in the both the risks and benefits of the harvest. With a community farm, we can all share in keeping different types of livestock and growing a variety of produce that would be very hard to achieve individually in back gardens or on allotments.

Membership offers a number of other advantages and experiences, in past years our members have built a beehive, pig arks, numerous poultry coops, a cider press and a cold smoker. We’ve also tried brewing our own beer, ploughing and making scarecrows with the kids. There are also plenty of social events including monthly ‘bring and share’ lunches.

We also have a ‘Friends‘ scheme which enables people to get involved on a more flexible basis and purchase surplus produce from the farm.

If you’d like to find out more about joining us on the farm, please do get in touch by sending an email to join@hempsalsfarm.com to arrange a visit on one of our Saturday workdays.
